MORE NEW STUFF!!!
We have some really BIG puppy pads, new this month. These
washable pads are much more economical than the throw away
type. They are extra heavy and extra big - 34” x 36”. Not
only are they reusable, but they also don’t shred, so they
are long lasting.

We have a new HONEST KITCHEN food this month, designed
especially for those who prefer to home-cook. PREFERENCE is
a meat-free diet, designed to be combined with your choice
of protein to create a balanced meal. It contains NO
grains, flax, potatoes, carrots, beets, eggs or dairy - it
is ideal for dogs that have numerous food sensitivities.
Unlike our other recipes, this new diet is a foundation or
base mix, which must have protein added to it, and is NOT
INTENDED as a stand-alone diet.

PUPPY PARKS – BE CAREFUL:
There are a few off-leash dog parks in my area, where dogs
can run loose and play without having to drag along a slow
moving human. I was sort of excited a couple of months ago
when I learned they were planning a new park about a mile
from my house. Then, a couple of weeks ago I read about a
disturbing incident at an off-leash park. Apparently there
were no size restrictions or size separation and a very
careless owner let a little puppy free to romp around with
big dogs. Unfortunately the puppy was critically injured.
The puppy’s owner blamed an aggressive bigger dog, and was
very upset, but truthfully, I think the puppy’s owner was
to blame. A big dog can seriously injure a smaller dog
during the course of normal play, and the puppy’s owner
should have known this.

I have not yet taken my dogs to an off-leash park, but if
they don’t have the park separated by size, there’s no way
I’m letting them run free with dogs 10 or 15 times their
size. In fact, even if they do have special areas
designated for smaller dogs, I’m going to be keeping a
close eye on them, and I would hope any responsible dog
owner would do the same. I’m still looking forward to the
dog park, because they will also have special dog walking
trails and other activities, and I’ll be sure to pass along
stories of our future adventures. In the meantime, if you
take your dogs to an off leash park, please be careful and
be aware of the potential for trouble.

QUOTABLE QUOTES
I wonder if other dogs think poodles are members of a weird
religious cult – Rita Rudner

A dog is not “almost human,” and I know of no greater
insult to the canine race than to describe it as such – J
Holmes

WE WANT YOUR STORY
If you subscribe to the Little Shop News and you shop at
the Little Shop of Terrors, then you MUST have a little
terror of your own, right? And if you are like every other
Terror Wrangler we know, then you must have a story or two
that others might find humorous, or at the very least a
story that will make others realize maybe THEIR terror
isn’t as bad as YOUR terror and they’ll feel sorry for you.
Heck, maybe it wasn’t even a BAD thing your terror did;
maybe it was a cute thing. We don’t know, but we’d sure
like to hear about it.

Here’s a chance for your little terror to be famous. Please
send us a story or two, tell us what makes your dog a
“terror” and we’ll print a new story each month in the
newsletter. Email - info@littleshopofterrors.citymax.com
