July 2005 edition of LITTLE SHOP NEWS

We got to thinking about something the other day, and we
try not to do much thinking here at the Little Shop of
Terrors, so this was a rare thing indeed. ? But what we
were thinking is that if you subscribe to the Little Shop
News and you shop at the Little Shop of Terrors, then you
MUST have a little terror of your own, right? And if you
are like every other Terror Wrangler we know, then you must
have a story or two that others might find humorous, or at
the very least a story that will make others realize maybe
THEIR terror isn’t as bad as YOUR terror and they’ll feel
sorry for you. Heck, maybe it wasn’t even a BAD thing your
terror did; maybe it was a cute thing. We don’t know, but
we’d sure like to hear about it.

As an example, I have a little Yorkie named Ellie, and
Ellie learned very early just how much fun it can be to
shred paper. I remember playing outside with her just a
week or two after we brought her home, and my wife was
sitting in the grass near us, trying to read the paper.
Well, she was not paying attention to Ellie, so Ellie
proceeded to climb over the newspaper and then a piece
wound up in her mouth and before we knew it, she was
tearing the thing to shreds. This should have been a
warning. Fast forward about a year to the time she and her
new baby sister Rylie discovered the toilet paper roll in
the master bathroom had unraveled a bit, was hanging within
their reach, and gosh darn it, it sure looked like
something that would be fun to pull on. I walked into the
master bedroom and thought it had snowed indoors. There
were shreds of toilet paper everywhere – on the floor, on
the bed… and these two dogs were staring up at me with big
grins as if to say, “Hey, look what we found, do you wanna
play too?” I have pictures if you ever want to see the
evidence.

Anyway, it’s YOUR turn to share. Here’s a chance for your
little terror to be famous. Please send us a story or two,
tell us what makes your dog a “terror” and we’ll print a
new story each month in the newsletter. Email -

I know I mentioned these last month, but it IS Summertime,
and we know how much dogs love to go for rides, checking
out the scenery and getting some wind in their faces. Most
dogs love to stick their heads out the car window, and I’ve
even seen a lot of bigger dogs riding in the back of pickup
trucks. There are even dogs who ride along on bikes, or
motorcycles. Though the wind in their faces might feel
good, they could also get some nasty debris in their eyes,
and that’s not good.

So I have to remind you once again that DOGGLES have
arrived at Little Shop of Terrors and they are very cool.
DOGGLES are protective eyewear for dogs that feature
shatterproof, anti-fog lenses that block 100% of UV light.
So not only do they keep out the road debris and bugs, they
protect your dog’s eyes from the sun’s harmful rays. I
can’t believe I didn’t invent these, but at least I know
where I can pick up a couple pair at a great price….

Speaking of Summertime fun…is it time for a few new toys
around your place? Maybe the old toys have seen better days
and the insides are coming out? Or maybe they have just
been around a long time and they are just not as much fun
anymore. Well, check out our toy page
http://www.littleshopofterrors.citymax.com/dogtoys.html for
lots of great squeaker toys and plush toys your little
terror will love. None of our plush squeaker toys have
button eyes or noses. They are all embroidered in as part
of the fabric, so you don’t have to worry about anything
being swallowed. Plus, our toys are priced super low, so
you can afford to buy several!

Okay, I’m going to keep this Summertime theme going. It’s
nice outside, you know you’ll be taking your terror for
walks or out on the town…and they MUST look their best at
all times….so be sure to check out our Top Knot Bows, sized
for the Yorkie, centered with faux pearls, rosettes and
beads, and vibrantly colored to bring attention to your
little fur baby.

Don’t forget the Little Shop website now features a FUN AND
GAMES page!!! Next time you get frustrated because your
little angel has dug up the backyard, you can vent those
frustrations by playing our little ‘Dog Bone’ game and dig
a few holes of your own. And if you feel like unwinding by
putting together a puzzle, you will find our NEW
‘Yorkaholic’ puzzle a fun and easy way to waste a few
minutes. Keep watching our game page in the future as we
plan to add more fun games, puzzles and crosswords. Check
it out right now…
